غامبيا: إحباط محاولة انقلابية واعتقال متورطين بالمشاركة

قالت الحكومة الغامبية، اليوم الأربعاء، إنها أحبطت “محاولة انقلابية خطط لها بعض الجنود”، مؤكدة اعتقال بعض المتورطين في القضية.

وأكد متحدث باسم الحكومة، أن تقارير الاستخبارات أفادت بأن “بعضا من جنود الجيش كانوا يخططون للإطاحة بالحكومة المنتخبة للرئيس أداما بارو”.

وأوضح المتحدث في بيان أنه تم اعتقال 4 جنود في “عملية سريعة” نُفذت أمس الثلاثاء، دون ذكر المزيد من التفاصيل بشأن هويات المعتقلين.

وذكر البيان أن الجنود المعتقلين “يتعاونون حاليا مع الشرطة العسكرية لإتمام التحقيقات”، كما يقوم الجيش حاليا بملاحقة “ثلاثة متواطئين”.
