خلفا للإمام الراحل الشيخ “مصطفى غي” رحمه الله قررت الجمعية الوطنية للأئمة والعلماء بالسنغال إختيار الأمين العام للجمعية “عمر جين” رئيسا مؤقتا ،
و كان الإمام “جين” يشغل منصب الأمين العام للجمعية المذكورة. و قد كلف بتسيير أعمال الجمعية إلى المؤتمر القادم لاختيار خليفة رسمي للإمام الراحل
