رئيس نيجيريا يكشف عن مزيج قاتل يهدد مستقبل إفريقيا
أكد محمد بخاري رئيس جمهورية نيجيريا الاتحادية، ازدياد عبء الأمراض غير المعدية في أفريقيا، إلى جانب عدم كفاية البنية التحتية الطبية بها، قائلا “إن ذلك يشكل مزيجًا قاتلًا يهدد المستقبل”.
جاء ذلك خلال الاحتفال بقيام بنك التصدير والاستيراد الأفريقي “افريكسم بنك” رسميًا بوضع حجر الأساس لبناء المركز الطبي الأفريقي للتميز (AMCE) في أبوجا بنيجيريا.
وذكر البنك – في بيان- أن المركز يهدف إلى توفير رعاية صحية عالمية المستوى في جميع أنحاء القارة في شراكة طويلة الأمد مع مستشفى King’s College بلندن (KCH)، الشريك السريري الرسمي لـ AMCE، ومن المتوقع أن يبدأ تشغيل المركز في الربع الأول من عام 2024.
ونوه بخاري بازدياد مشكلة الأمراض غير المعدية بفعل هجرة العقول التي تعانى منها القارة الأفريقية، في ظل انجذاب النوابغ في مهنة الطب لفرص العمل في الخارج مما أدى إلى فجوة كبيرة بين العلاجات المطلوبة والمتاحة للأمراض غير المعدية.
وتابع بقوله “إن حكومة نيجيريا دخلت في شراكة مع أفريكسم بنك لتطوير المركز الطبي الأفريقي للتميز في أبوجا، والذى سيوفر خدمات طبية عالمية المستوى على قدم المساواة مع المستشفيات الأكثر شهرة في العالم وبالتالي استعادة الثقة في النظام الصحي المحلي”.
ويقدم المركز مجموعة كاملة من الخدمات الطبية في علم الأورام وأمراض الدم وأمراض القلب وخدمات الرعاية الصحية العامة (بما في ذلك خدمات الصدمات والطوارئ)، بالإضافة إلى الخدمات الأساسية الأخرى بما في ذلك الخدمات الأكاديمية والسكنية، والضيافة والتجزئة.
