ونظمت وزارة الشؤون الإسلامية بالمملكة السعودية مسابقة الملك عبدالعزيز الدولية لحفظ القرآن الكريم في نسخة هذا العام وبلغ مجموع جوائزها 4 ملايين ريال، تنافس فيها المشاركون في 5 فروع هي:
الفرع الأول: فرع حفظ القرآن الكريم كامل مع حسن الأداء والتجويد بالقراءات السبع المتواترة من طريقي الشاطبية والتيسير “رواية ودراية”.
الفرع الثاني: حفظ القرآن الكريم كامل مع حسن الأداء والتجويد وتفسير مفردات القرآن الكريم.
والفرع الثالث: حفظ القرآن الكريم كامل مع حسن الأداء والتجويد.
أما الفرع الرابع فقد تمثل فى حفظ 15 جزءًا متتالية مع حسن الأداء والتجويد والفرع الخامس حفظ 5 أجزاء متتالية مع حسن الأداء والتجويد.
وقد تم استخدام التحكيم الإلكتروني في تصفيات المسابقة الأولية والنهائية وفق منظومة متكاملة من الخدمات التوعوية التي قدمتها الوزارة للمتسابقين ومرافقيهم.
