الولايات المتحدة تزود الدرك السنغالي بمعدات رقمية للطب الشرعي
قدمت وزارة الخارجية الأمريكية ، من خلال مكتب الهجرة والجمارك في إفريقيا (أفريكوم) ، إلى الدرك السنغالي معدات جنائية رقمية لقسم الأبحاث التابع لشرطة الخيالة الوطنية ، ووحدة التحكم في الحاويات المشتركة في ميناء داكار.
جرى حفل تسليم المعدات ، بحضور سفير الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية لدى السنغال ، والجنرال جان بابتيز تين ، القائد الأعلى لقوات الدرك الوطني ، ومدير ااشرطة القضائية
تتكون مجموعة المعدات التي تبلغ قيمتها 28000 دولار بما تقدر قيمته بأكثر من 15 مليون فرنك أفريقي ، من أجهزة كمبيوتر محمولة وكاميرات ومفاتيح USB وحقائب ظهر. ويهدف هذا الدعم اللوجستي إلى تعزيز قدرة قسم الأبحاث في الدرك الوطني والوحدة المشتركة لمراقبة الحاويات بالميناء لجمع الأدلة الرقمية من اجل مكافحة المخدرات و تطوير تحقيقاتها.
وكان من المقرر أن يصاحب هذا التسليم دورة تكوين في المجال ، لكن تم تأجيلها لاحقًا بسبب Covid-19.
وأشاد السفير الامريكي والجنرال تاين بالجهود المشتركة بين داكار وواشنطن في مكافحة تهريب المخدرات عبر الحدود الوطنية ، وكذلك المشاركة المستمرة للبعثة الأمريكية في داكار لدعم جهود الولايات المتحدة في تطوير قدرات الدرك السنغالي في الحرب ضد المخدرات والاتجار غير المشروع.
