استضافت يوم امس الجمعة، الخلافة العامة للأسرة العمرية بمدينة “لوغا” وسط السنغال، ندوة ثقافية حول حياة الشيخ عمر الفوتي وعلاقته بعلماء شنقيط، ألقاها الدكتور محمد الحنفي ولد.دهاه، وبحضور عدد كبير من مقدمي الطريقة التيجانية وأحفاد الشيخ عمر الفوتي، وجمهور غفير من محبي وأتباع الطريقة التيجانية وذلك في إطار الزيارة السنوية التي يقيمها الخليفة العام لهذه الأسرة فضيلة الشيخ محمد البشير تال.
استهل المحاضر عرضه بالتعبير عن سعادته بوجوده في الحضرة العمرية التي اتسع إشعاعها وتاثيرها في اكثر من مجال في مجال الجهاد وفي مجال نشر العلم وفي الدعوة إلى الله، ليعم بذلك مداها جميع القارة الأفريقية والعالم.
معتبرا ان الحديث عن الشيخ عمر الفوتي حديث عن ظاهرة كونية عن شخص صنع التاريخ.
وركز المحاضر الدكتور محمد الحنفي دهاه حديثه عن الشيخ عمر الفوتي حول علاقته بعلماء شنقيط، والتي شملت من أخذ عنه الطريقة التيجانية وتتلمذ عليه وبين من آزره وسانده في جهاده.
وذكر المحاضر امثلة لرجال علماء كانوا من أبرز من صحبوا الشيخ عمر الفوتي وجاهدوا معه مثل: احمد بن محم، الذي تولى ديوان الحسبة في الدولة العمرية.
