أعلن الجيش السنغالي، أمس الخميس، عن فقدان ثلاثة من عناصره وإنقاذ عشرة آخرين، إثر انقلاب زورق دورية تابع للبحرية عند مصب نهر السنغال.
وقالت مديرية الإعلام والعلاقات العامة للقوات المسلحة السنغالية، في بيان صحفي، إن الحادث وقع حوالي الساعة التاسعة من صباح الخميس، أثناء قيام الزورق بمهمة “اتصال” في المنطقة، مرجعة سبب الانقلاب إلى “الأمواج العاتية” الناتجة عن سوء الأحوال الجوية.
وأكد البيان أن عمليات الإنقاذ الفورية مكنت من انتشال عشرة عسكريين ناجين، فيما لا يزال مصير الثلاثة الآخرين مجهولاً، مشيراً في الوقت ذاته إلى أنه تم العثور على حطام الزورق وسحبه.
وأوضحت القوات المسلحة أنها أطلقت عمليات بحث “واسعة النطاق” سخرت لها إمكانيات جوية وبحرية وبرية، لمواصلة مسح المنطقة بحثاً عن العسكريين المفقودين.
