أعرب الرئيس السنغالي بشيرو جوماي دياخار فاي عن ارتياحه لمستوى الأشغال المنجزة في المنشآت المخصصة لاستضافة دورة الألعاب الأولمبية للشباب “داكار 2026”، مؤكدًا أن استلام البنية التحتية يمثل مرحلة مهمة، لكنه ليس المعيار الوحيد لنجاح السنغال في تنظيم هذا الحدث الرياضي الدولي.
وجاءت تصريحات الرئيس عقب جولة تفقدية شملت عددًا من المنشآت الرياضية، حيث أشاد بجهود جميع الأطراف التي ساهمت في إنجاز المشاريع، موجهًا شكره إلى الوكالة الفرنسية للتنمية والحكومة الفرنسية على دعمهما، كما أثنى على الشركات المنفذة، ولا سيما الشركات الصينية، معتبرًا أن جودة الأعمال تعكس متانة العلاقات بين السنغال والصين.
وأشار فاي إلى أن وتيرة الإنجاز شهدت تطورًا كبيرًا مقارنة بزياراته السابقة للمواقع في نوفمبر 2025 وأبريل 2026، مؤكدًا أن المنشآت أُنجزت وفق الجدول الزمني المحدد بفضل التزام مختلف الفرق العاملة وروحها الوطنية.
وأكد الرئيس أن أولمبياد الشباب “داكار 2026” ليس حدثًا سنغاليًا فحسب، بل يمثل القارة الإفريقية بأكملها، مضيفًا: “قلنا إن إفريقيا هي التي تستضيف، ونريد أن تستضيف في أفضل الظروف الممكنة.”
كما أشاد بجهود وزارة البنية التحتية، ووزارة الشباب والرياضة، واللجنة المنظمة للألعاب، واللجنة الوطنية الأولمبية والرياضية السنغالية، لما بذلوه من متابعة وتنسيق لإنجاح الاستعدادات.
وشدد فاي على أن التقييم الحقيقي لنجاح السنغال لن يكون عند تسلم المنشآت، وإنما بعد انتهاء المنافسات، عندما تكون البلاد قد أوفت بجميع التزاماتها، بدءًا من حفل الافتتاح وحتى حفل الختام، وفق دفتر الشروط المتفق عليه مع اللجنة الأولمبية الدولية.
وأكد أن الدولة ستواصل متابعة جميع الجوانب التنظيمية بنفس المستوى من الصرامة، معتبرًا أن النجاح لا يمكن أن يكون جزئيًا، بل يجب أن يشمل كل مراحل تنظيم الألعاب، بما يعكس صورة السنغال وإفريقيا على الساحة الدولية.
