أعلنت مديرية العلاقات العامة للجيش الوطني في بيان عن اختفاء 9 جنود سنغاليين خلال الاشتباكات العنيفة التي جرت الإثنين في حدود غامبيا .
ووفقا لما نقله موقع دكارنيوز من المعلومات الرسمية ، فإن الاشتباكات وقعت خلال عملية أمنية، كانت تقوم بها القوات المسلحة السنغالية في جنوب بلدة “بويام” الواقعة في غامبيا.
ولوحظ عقب العملية اختفاء 9 جنود سنغاليين، يعتقد اعتقالهم من طرف حركة قوى الديموقراطية التي تمثل المتمردين في جنوب البلاد منذ بداية الثمانينات في القرن الماضي.
وفي وقت سابق ، أعلنت خلية الإعلام للجيش الوطني عن مقتل جنديين سنغاليين وأحد المتمردين خلال اشتباكات بمنطقة زيغينشور جنوبي البلاد على الحدود مع غامبيا. كما تم إرسال تعزيزات عسكرية لاحقا إلى المنطقة من أجل تأمينها.
