غامبيا: 10 قتلى و1500 نازح بسبب عاصفة غربي البلاد
الأخبار (بانجول) – لقي نحو 10 أشخاص على الأقل مصرعهم، ونزح أكثر من 1500 آخرين، إثر عاصفة ضربت بعض مناطق غرب غامبيا الواقعة في غرب القارة الإفريقية.
ووفقا لوكالة إدارة الكوارث الغامبية فإن الحكومة نقلت 1531 شخصا إلى مساجد أو مبان عامة بعد مرور العاصفة التي خلفت أيضا عددا غير محدد من الجرحى.
وأوضحت الوكالة خلال مؤتمر صحفي، أن “الرياح العاتية والأمطار والسيول التي هبت سوت عشرات المنازل بالأرض، وتركت مئات الأسر دون مأوى”.
وأشارت الرئاسة الغامبية في بيان إلى أن “حجم الأضرار التي لحقت بالبلاد لم يحدد بعد لكن مناطق كثيرة باتت حاليا بدون مياه جارية وكهرباء”.
ويبلغ عدد سكان غامبيا، التي تصنف من أصغر دول غرب إفريقيا، نحو 2 مليون نسمة.
