دعا الرئيس السنغالي بشير جوماي فاي مجددا إلى “حوار مع الصحافة الوطنية”، وحث حكومته على “منح إهتمام خاص” لأزمة الصحافة الحرة، و”اتخاذ تدابير” بهذا الخصوص.
واعتبر الرئيس جوماي فاي خلال الاجتماع الأسبوعي للحكومة السنغالية، أن “الصحافة المهنية والمسؤولة التي تحترم سيادة القانون تظل ركيزة أساسية للديمقراطية”.
وبحسب البيان الصادر عن اجتماع الحكومة السنغالية، فقد طلب” فاي ” من حكومته ممثلة في وزير الاتصال “ضمان التطبيق الكامل لقانون الصحافة”، وكذا “حسن سير عمل المؤسسات الصحفية، بروح دائمة من الانفتاح والتشاور”.
وكانت السنغال قد عاشت الثلاثاء الماضي يوما بلا صحافة إلا قليل من دور الصحف ، حيث قررت عدد من الصحف والإذاعات والقنوات التلفيزيونية والمواقع الألكترونية، التوقف عن الصدور والبث والنشر على مدى يوم كامل ، احتجاجا على تدابير ضريبية يعتبرها مديروها مجحفة، و”قد تؤدي إلى إفلاس مؤسساتهم” الإعلامية.
