طالب الائتلاف الوطني للجزارين في داكار الحكومة السنغالية بتسديد مستحقات مالية تصل إلى 19 مليار فرنك CFA، خلال مؤتمر صحفي عُقد في سوق كاستور بدكار. وأكد ديبي باه، منسق الائتلاف، أن أكثر من 5000 طن من اللحوم غير المراقبة تم بيعها في العاصمة بين عامي 2024 و2025، في خرق واضح للقوانين الصحية. كما ندد الجزارون بتفشي سرقة المواشي، والذبح غير القانوني، واستبعادهم من القرارات المتعلقة بقطاعهم.
اتهم ديبي باه بعض الجهات الحكومية بالتلاعب بقطاع اللحوم، مشيرًا إلى أن المسالخ الوطنية تمت مصادرتها وتأجيرها لشركة “سوجاس” دون إشراك المهنيين في اتخاذ القرار. وأضاف أن الدولة لم تدفع مستحقاتهم منذ سنوات، رغم المراسلات المتكررة إلى السلطات المعنية، بما في ذلك الرئيس باسيرو ديوماي فاي، ورئيس الوزراء عثمان سونكو، والهيئة الوطنية لمكافحة الفساد (OFNAC).
مع اقتراب عيد الأضحى (التاباسكي)، يخشى الجزارون أن يؤدي عدم تسديد هذه الديون إلى نقص حاد في اللحوم وارتفاع الأسعار، مما قد يثير غضب المستهلكين ويؤثر على الاقتصاد المحلي. وفي ظل غياب رد رسمي حتى الآن، هدد الجزارون بتصعيد احتجاجاتهم إذا لم يتم الاستجابة لمطالبهم في أقرب وقت.
