أدانت المجموعة الاقتصادية لدول غرب أفريقيا (إيكواس) بشدة أعمال العنف التي وقعت يوم الجمعة ” في ” بيساوو “وكل المحاولات الرامية إلى تعطيل النظام الدستوري” في غينيا بيساو، حيث صارالوضع هادئا صباح اليوم السبت.
واندلعت اشتباكات بين عناصر الحرس الوطني المتحصنين في ثكنة جنوب المدينة، والقوات الخاصة التابعة للحرس الرئاسي، خلال ليل الخميس حتى الجمعة، ما أسفر عن مقتل شخصين على الأقل، بحسب مسؤول عسكري.
وقال مسؤول عسكري آخر، تحدث دون الكشف عن هويته يوم السبت بسبب حساسية الوضع، إنه تم إجلاء ستة جنود مصابين إلى السنغال المجاورة.
وعاد الهدوء منتصف صباح الجمعة مع الإعلان عن اعتقال أو استسلام قائد الحرس الوطني العقيد فيكتور تشونغو.
