الكاميرون : وفاة 44 شخصا وأكثر من 1500 إصابة بالكوليرا

سجلت الكاميرون 44 حالة وفاة و 1574 حالة إصابة بالكوليرا تم الإبلاغ عنها بين 14 و 20 فبراير الماضي.
وأشار تقرير الحالات نشره مركز تنسيق عمليات الطوارئ الصحية العامة، إلى أن هناك 5 مناطق “أقصى الشمال والساحل والشمال والجنوب الغربي” ، من أصل 10 في البلاد، تعاني من هذا المرض الذي يتنقل عن طريق المياه في 19 منطقة صحية متأثرة بمعدل وفاة بلغت 2 ، 8%.
وفيما يتعلق بالصعوبات التي تواجهها، فإن هذه الهيئة الحكومية التابعة لوزارة الصحة العامة تفيد بنقص المستلزمات المِخبرية في مناطق الوباء، وعدم توفر وحدات العلاج في بعض المناطق الصحية، فضلاً عن انعدام الأمن في منطقة الجنوب الغربي المُبتلى بصراع انفصالي مسلح.
وأبلِغت أولى حالات الإصابة بالكوليرا في المحليات الكاميرونية في الساحل والجنوب الغربي في بداية شهر يناير، وفي التاسع عشر من نفس الشهر، أعلنت الحكومة عن تلقي 204000 جرعة من لقاح الفم “Euvichol” المخصص لمحاربة داء الكوليرا.
وتسبب الكوليرا إسهالًا مائيًا حادًا ويمكن أن تؤدي إلى الوفاة في غضون ساعات إذا لم يتم علاجها فوراً.
