و كان في استقباله لدى وصوله مطار موديبو كايتا الدولي فخامة الرئيس الانتقالي المالي، العقيد أسيمي غوتا، وأعضاء الحكومة، والسلك الدبلوماسي.
بصفته الرئيس الحالي للاتحاد الأفريقي، بحث الجانبان توطيد العلاقات الثنائية بين البلدين، و طرق تعزيزها بما يخدم البلدين الشقيقين، إضافة إلى القضايا ذات الاهتمام المشترك.
كما ناقش الرئيس ماكي سال الذي يحمل رسالة صداقة وحسن جوار، مع نظيره المالي، في قصر كولوبا، تحديات الفترة الانتقالية و طرق مواجهتها، و البحث عن نتيجة آمنة و سعيدة للعملية الانتقالية، حتى يستعيد مالي عافيته و مكانته في المحفل الأفريقي والدولي.
و يُنتظر الرئيس ماكي سال في العاصمة التشادية انجامينا، محطته الثانية ضمن جولة أفريقية تستغرق 4 أيام، حيث سيلتقي بنظيره فخامة الرئيس محمد ديبي اتنو، لبحث العملية الانتقالية في تشاد.
و يختتم الرئيس سال جولته الأفريقية بالمشاركة كضيف شرف في الأنشطة الاحتفالية باليوم الوطني لغابون في لبرافيل العاصمة، محطته الثالثة و الأخيرة.
