وقع سفير الاتحاد الأوروبي في مالي، بارت أوفري، ووزير الخارجية والتعاون الدولي المالي، عبدولاي ديوب، في باماكو، على اتفاقية تمويل بمبلغ 32,8 مليار فرنك إفريقي (50 مليون يورو) سيخصص للبرنامج الجديد “الصمود والتنمية المستدامة في وسط مالي”.
وأوضح نفس المصدر أن هذا البرنامج الذي سيمتد على مدى خمس سنوات، سيقترح إجراءات لمعالجة الأسباب الهيكلية لانعدام الأمن الغذائي في مالي.
وسيتم استخدام هذا التمويل المقدم من الاتحاد الأوروبي، بوجه خاص، لتحسين الأمن الغذائي للسكان الضعفاء، وتحسين سبل العيش والوقاية من سوء التغذية وتعزيز قدرات الصمود وإدارة المخاطر لصالح المؤسسات الوطنية والمحلية وللمجتمعات.
وسيدمج البرنامج أيضًا الخطة الوطنية للاستجابة، المعتمدة من مفوضية الأمن الغذائي، لا سيما في جوانب المساعدة الغذائية وأنشطة الدعم لسبل العيش.
ويندرج البرنامج في استمرارية التزامات الاتحاد الأوروبي تجاه حكومة مالي لدعم جهودها من أجل ضمان وصول جميع الماليين إلى الغذاء الكافي والجيد، باعتباره شرطا أساسيا للإنصاف الاجتماعي وتنمية مالي.
وقال سفير الاتحاد الأوروبي لدى مالي “يترجم هذا التمويل مرة أخرى وبأعمال ملموسة، التزامات أوروبا بدعم مالي في جهودها من أجل التنمية والأمن والسلام”. وتمنى بارت أوفري مواصلة هذا التعاون الجيد مع حكومة مالي وجميع الشركاء “بروح الحوار المفتوح”.
