فقدت الطريقة المريدية في السنغال اليوم الجمعه شخصية ثقافية ودينية، كان له حضوره المتميز في حياة أهل الطريقة المريدية، إنه الشيخ “آتو جانغ” الذي كان يتولى إدارة وتسيير جهاز “دائرة حزب الترقية”، وهي جهاز خدمة يعنى بالشؤون الثقافية وحفظ التراث المريدي، وشهد حزب الترقية في عهد الشيخ “آتو جانغ” الكثير من الاعمال والخدمات، حيث كانت ركنا فاعلا من اركان الحياة الثقافية في مدينة “طوبى” فكانت محطة من محطات ضيوف المدينة فنالت تقدير وإعجاب جميع الزوار من داخل الطريقة المريدية ومن خارجها.
وذكر مصدر إخباري ان الفقيد احتجز في المستشفى لعدة أيام.
