نشرت منظمة الصحة العالمية توصيات لدول العالم الإسلامي لكبح تفشي فيروس كورونا خلال الشهر الفضيل وإعادة النظر في أي احتفالات دينية جماعية. وكان مفتي المملكة العربية السعودية أصدر فتوى بأن صلاة التراويح وصلاة العيد ستقامان في المنزل. بينما تجاهلت باكستان التوصيات وأعادت الجمعة فتح أبواب مساجدها أمام المصلين. وفي مالي، توافد المصلون على المساجد لأداء صلاة الجمعة في إشارة إلى احتمال إقامة صلاة التراويح في شهر رمضان، مع اقتراب حلول شهر رمضان الذي ينتظره المسلمون كل عام بفارغ الصبر والذي من المتوقع أن تبدأ أول أيامه الجمعة المقبل
