أعلنت المنظمة الدولية للهجرة، اليوم السبت، أنه تم العثور على جثث ستة مهاجرين فيما افترضت وفاة 29 آخرين لا يزالون في عداد المفقودين بعد غرق قاربهم قبالة سواحل ليبيا.

وقال مكتب المنظمة في ليبيا عبر «تويتر»: «انقلب قارب خشبي صغير يحمل نحو 35 مهاجراً أمس قبالة صبراتة (غرب)… تم العثور على جثث ستة أشخاص بينما هناك 29 آخرون في عداد المفقودين ويفترض أنهم لقوا حتفهم».
وقالت الوكالة التابعة للأمم المتحدة «تم الإبلاغ عن مقتل أو فقدان ما لا يقل عن 53 مهاجراً قبالة السواحل الليبية هذا الأسبوع وحده»، وفق ما نقلته وكالة الصحافة الفرنسية.

وتعد الدولة الواقعة في شمال أفريقيا نقطة عبور مهمة لعشرات الآلاف من المهاجرين الذين يسعون كل عام للوصول إلى أوروبا عن طريق السواحل الإيطالية الواقعة على بعد حوالي 300 كيلومتر.
ويتحدر معظم المهاجرين من بلدان أفريقيا جنوب الصحراء، وغالباً ما يقعون فريسة للمتاجرين بالبشر.

وتتعرض ليبيا الغارقة في أزمة سياسية منذ سقوط نظام معمر القذافي عام 2011، لانتقادات مستمرة بسبب سوء معاملة المهاجرين، لا سيما في مراكز الاحتجاز.

ومنذ بداية العام «لقي ما لا يقل عن 475 شخصاً حتفهم أثناء محاولتهم عبور وسط البحر الأبيض المتوسط»، وفق تقرير لمنظمة الهجرة الدولية بتاريخ 11 أبريل (نيسان).
