تحتضن السنغال أعمال الدورة ال18 للمؤتمر الوزاري الإفريقي للبيئة، خلال الفترة من 12 إلى 16 سبتمبر الجاري، وفق ما أعلن برنامج الأمم المتحدة للبيئة.
المؤتمر الذي ينعقد تحت شعار “ضمان رفاهية الناس والاستدامة البيئية في إفريقيا”، سيبحث قضايا الانتعاش الاقتصادي، وخلق فرص عمل، وتحسين فرص العيش.
وأوضح برنامج الأمم المتحدة للبيئة في بيان أن المؤتمر “سيكون مناسبة لمراجعة الفرص والتحديات البيئية في إفريقيا خلال ما بعد جائحة كوفيد 19″، فضلا عن بحث قضايا أخرى تتعلق بالتنمية المستدامة على المستوى القاري.
ويتم خلال المؤتمر تقديم التوجهات السياسية الإفريقية فيما يتعلق بالأجندة الدولية في مجال البيئة، وذلك بين يدي قمة “كوب 27” حول المناخ، المقرر عقدها نوفمبر المقبل في مدينة شرم الشيخ المصرية.
وكانت الدورة ال17 من هذا المؤتمر الوزاري الإفريقي للبيئة، قد عقدت في نوفمبر 2019 بمدينة دوربان في جنوب إفريقيا.
