أعطت منظمة الصحة العالمية بعض التوصيات التوجيهية المؤقتة المطلوب اتباعها من أجل مواكبة شهر رمضان المبارك، حيث طلبت المنظمة بأن يُحتفظ في جميع الأوقات بالإبقاء على مسافة لا تقل عن متر واحد (3 أقدام) بين الناس، واستخدام التحية المقبولة ثقافيا ودينيا والتي لا تعني الاتصال الجسدي: على سبيل المثال ، التلويح باليد ، وإيماء الرأس ، واليد على القلب ، ومنع تدليك منطقة الأنف باليد في الأماكن المرتبطة بالأنشطة الرمضانية (أماكن الترفيه والأسواق والمحلات التجارية).
