كورورنا: وفاة الرئيس السابق لجمهورية الكونغو برازافيل
أعلن في فرنسا عن وفاة الرئيس السابق لجمهورية الكونغو برازافيل جاك يواكيم يومبي أوبانغو، بسبب فيروس كورونا المستجد، وذلك إثر تدهور حالته الصحية، وفق ما أكد نجله جان جاك يومبي أوبانغو، لوكالة الصحافة الفرنسية.
وقد حكم جاك يواكيم البالغ من العمر 81 عاما، الكونغو برازافيل بعد اغتيال الرئيس الأسبق للبلاد ماريان نغوابي، غير أن فترة حكمه لم تستمر سوى عامين، من 1977 إلى 1979، حيث أطيح به من طرف الرئيس الحالي دنيس ساسو نغيسو، الذي ينحدر وإياه من نفس الولاية.
وقد سجن بعد الإطاحة به، وأطلق سراحه بعد المؤتمر الوطني عام 1991، والذي فتح باب التعددية السياسية في هذا البلد الواقع بغرب القارة الإفريقية.
وأسس جاك يواكيم حزب التجمع من أجل الديمقراطية والتنمية، وتحالف مع الرئيس المنتخب باسكال ليسوبا، حيث عينه وزيرا أول من 1994 إلى 1996.
وإثر الحرب الأهلية التي عرفتها البلاد عام 1997، والتي من خلالها عاد دنيس ساسو نغيسو للسلطة، غادر جاك يواكيم إلى فرنسا وعاش هناك إلى غاية 2007، حيث عاد إلى بلاده، وظل يتنقل بينها وفرنسا، إلى أن رنقلا عن موقع الأخبار الموريتاني
