زامبيا: توقيف رجلين بتهمة “السحر” لاستهداف رئيس الدولة
أعلنت الشرطة الزامبية عن توقيف رجلين بتهمة “ممارسة السحر” بزعم محاولتهما استخدام طقوس سحرية للإضرار برئيس البلاد، هاكايندي هيشيليما.
وأوضح المتحدث باسم الشرطة، راي هامونغا، في بيان رسمي، أن المشتبه بهما، أحدهما موزمبيقي والآخر زامبي، كانا بحوزتهما مجموعة من التعويذات، من بينها حرباء حية، ويُعتقد أنهما “ساحران”. وأضاف: “كانت مهمتهما المزعومة تهدف إلى استخدام السحر للإضرار بالرئيس”.
ووجهت للموقوفين تهم “إتقان السحر المزعوم” و”حيازة تعويذات”، ما يُعد انتهاكًا لقانون السحر الزامبي، بالإضافة إلى تهمة “القسوة تجاه الحيوانات البرية”. وأكدت الشرطة أن الرجلين سيعرضان قريبًا على القضاء.
وأشار بيان الشرطة إلى أن تحقيقاتها الأولية كشفت عن أن المشتبه بهما قد تم تجنيدهما من قبل شقيق إيمانويل جاي باندا، وهو نائب معارض يواجه اتهامات بالسرقة المشددة، ومحاولة القتل، والهروب من العدالة.
يُذكر أن المعارضة في زامبيا تعيش تحت ضغط كبير، حيث تم اعتقال عدد من قادتها مؤخرًا بتهم مثيرة للجدل. في أغسطس الماضي، تم توقيف فرد ميمبي، زعيم حزب الاشتراكي الصغير، بسبب “ممارسات تحريضية” بعد مقال أشار إلى أن رئيس جمهورية الكونغو الديمقراطية قدم ملايين الدولارات للحكومة الزامبية لإسكات الانتقادات.
ومن جانبه، اعتُقل أيضًا الصحفي توماس زغامبو، رئيس موقع “ويستل بلوير”، بسبب اتهامات مماثلة بعد أن نشر مقالًا يزعم أن هيئة حكومية تستأجر مكاتب في مبنى مملوك للرئيس هيشيليما.
جدير بالذكر أن الرئيس الزامبي الحالي، هاكايندي هيشيليما، الذي كان معارضًا بارزًا لسنوات، نجح في الفوز برئاسة البلاد في المحاولة السادسة له، متغلبًا على الرئيس السابق إدغار لونغو في انتخابات أغسطس 2021.
