النيجر: ارتفاع ضحايا الفيضانات إلى 65 قتيلا

ارتفع عدد ضحايا الفيضانات والسيول الناجمة عن الأمطار الغزيرة التي تشهدها النيجر منذ يونيو/حزيران الماضي، إلى 65 قتيلًا.
جاء ذلك بحسب بيان صادر، الأربعاء، عن رئاسة إدارة الأعمال الإنسانية والكوارث بالبلاد، ونقلته العديد من وسائل الإعلام المحلية.
وأوضح أن أكثر من 329 ألفًا و958 شخصًا تضرروا من تلك الفيضانات التي ضربت العاصمة نيامي، ومناطق مرادي، وتاهوا، وتيلابري، ودوسو.
وأشار البيان إلى أن عدد من لقوا حتفهم جرّاء تلك الفيضايان ارتفع إلى 65، لافتًا إلى أن آخر حصيلة ذكرت بهذا الشأن كانت 45.
كما أوضح أن السيول تسببت في تخريب أكثر من 34 ألف منزل، وغمر أكثر من 5 آلاف هكتار من الأراضي الزراعية.
جدير بالذكر أن موسم الأمطار في غربي إفريقيا يبدأ في شهر يونيو من كل عام ويستمر حتى سبتمبر.
وتسببت الأمطار الغزيرة هذا العام في سيول وفيضانات بكل من النيجر، وبوركينا فاسو والسنغال.
تجدر الإشارة أن الفيضانات التي شهدتها البلاد العام الماضي تسببت في وفاة 32 شخصًا.
