  • جرت تشييع الصحفي المالي الشيخ عمر مايغا الملقب “جيلبرت” الذي توفي الأربعاء في باماكو عن عمر ناهز 64 عامًا بعد صراع مع المرض، إلى مثواه الأخير، أمس الخميس، حيث دُفن في مقبرة فالادي بالعاصمة باماكو بحضور حشد كبير من الصحفيين وشخصيات من مختلف الآفاق.

وكان الأمين العام السابق للوزارة المكلفة بالاتصالات ورئيس مجلس إدارة شركة سوتلما-ماليتل، أكبر شركة للهاتف في مالي، صحفيًا مخضرما، إذ درس في مركز دراسات وعلوم الاتصال (السابع في دفعته) ثم في مركز الدراسات الأدبية والعلمية المطبقة التابع لجامعة باريس 4 السوربون (فرنسا)، حيث حصل منها عام 1986 على الدكتوراه في علوم الإعلام والاتصال.

وكان الشيخ عمر مايغا استشاريا في إعداد إستراتيجيات الاتصال للعديد من المنظمات الإنمائية ووكالات الأمم المتحدة الأخرى ، وتقلد منصب المنسق الوطني لمشروع “المعلومات والتعليم والاتصال في مجال السكان” التابع لصندوق الأمم المتحدة للسكان، في باماكو.

كما شغل منصب الممثل المقيم لمنظمة الأمم المتحدة للأغذية والزراعة (الفاو) في الكاميرون وغينيا الاستوائية من 2003 إلى 2007.

وفي سنوات 1991 و1996 و2009، كان أحد المنظمين، ورئيس الأيام الوطنية الثلاثة الأولى للتفكير حول الاتصال في مالي، والتي جرى خلالها إعداد النصوص الناظمة لوسائل الإعلام في مالي.
